Primetime Narration is for voice actors who want to understand and perform television narration more effectively - from documentaries and docuseries to reality, competition, lifestyle and other in-show programming.
Hobbyists are welcome, but working and developing voice actors with some foundational training will get the most from the course.
No previous television narration experience is required. However, this is not a beginner course in microphones, recording software or starting a voiceover career. Professional-track students should already have a basic understanding of performance, script interpretation and recording themselves.
No. Documentary is just one part of Primetime Narration. The course explores documentaries, docuseries, reality and competition shows, home and lifestyle programming, instructional segments and other forms of in-show storytelling.
Not at all. Television narration uses a wide range of ages, vocal qualities, personalities and points of view. The goal is to discover how your own sound and storytelling instincts fit the work - not to imitate someone else.
You’ll learn how to recognize different styles of TV narration, analyze scripts for story and intention, make stronger performance choices, adjust pacing and emotional involvement, and self-direct more effectively.
The goal isn’t to create one “narrator sound,” but to help you make informed, personal choices that serve the story.
Yes. You’ll learn to recognize what a script and program are asking for, make more deliberate choices before recording, and better evaluate whether your performance is serving the story.
The course can help you approach auditions with greater clarity and confidence, but it does not guarantee auditions, representation, bookings or income.

If you plan to pursue professional voiceover work, you’ll eventually need recording quality that meets professional audition and production standards.
